My garden

My vegetable garden is just crazy and we eat nowhere near enough salad or herbs to keep up. The weather has just been wonderful so far this autumn and there has not been any frost yet. Hopefully we'll be able to have a few more salads before the cold hits us.

I sowed a few seeds of radishes in the spring, but never picked them and they just started flowering these really cute white flowers. I am not sure if they are edible but they are nice to look at anyway.

Desigual

I really like the Spanish design brand Desigual. Their clothes are unique and even though their clothes are mass produced they look like they are repurposed or recycled.
One sweater really took my fancy last year and since it looked like it was made out of scraps of other sweaters I decided to have a go at making one for my husband.

I took a bunch of old sweaters that were no longer used (either they had holes from years of wear or stains that didn't come out). I used the back from one sweater, the sleeves from another, the neckline from yet another and then just bits from them all and made a patchwork front. I then sewed all the parts together and this is the outcome.

Owls

I'm in love with these little Owls that Sarah Goldschadt has made both as ornaments and as a pillow. Check out her blog and her Etsy shop. She has even made a tutorial on Burdastyle on how to make them.

New dress

I desperately needed a new dress, there are so many birthdays and parties coming up. Only tomorrow we are going to one birthday at lunchtime, a graduation in the afternoon and a grand dinner/ dance in the evening. There was nothing for it, I had to sew a dress. I took out a stash of fabrics: Black cotton corduroy (not really suitable for a fine dinner). Gingham cotton (not so sure), silver striped organza, teal crepe, white silk crepe, and a light teal lace.

In the end I chose the silver striped organza and decided to line it with the white silk crepe. My grandfather gave me that crepe for my wedding dress but I didn't use it then (I went for a light cream silk dupioni). I really wanted to use it for a nice dress and now is my chance.

It was a bit fiddly to work with these two slippery fabrics together but it worked out really well in the end and I am very happy with the result.

Baby collar

This is an old fashioned baby collar made for me when I was a baby by my great aunt. I think it is really cute and I try to get my one year old to wear it all the time (she's not equally impressed).

I thought I would also be cute on a grownup so I decided to try to copy it in adult size. So I started...

... and finally finished....and gave it to my sister.

I think it turned out really nice. It was really easy so I might write up the pattern one day.

Tulips

I took a couple of photos of the tulips in my house this morning using the camera on my mobile.
